Real Life Trolley Problem in NYC

Here is a link to a story from today's NY Post: 

Apparently one of the subway lines in New York City was closed for two hours yesterday because of two kittens wandering the subway tracks.

What do you think?  Was rescuing two kittens more important than that the inconvenience to hundreds of human subway riders?
